Math Jazz — Mathias Bynens’s shizzle, y’all

Note: This site might seem inactive… That’s because it is. Don’t worry though, I’m still coding webpages and stuff! If you’re interested, I suggest you get a translator and head over to Qiwi; or you could just check the latest site we’ve been working on: Apotheek Goethals – Debrabandere. Enjoy!

Polaroid-o-nizer™ favelet

I just made a kick-ass favelet for the kick-ass Polaroid-o-nizer tool that’s been, like, kicking ass lately. Just point your favourite browser to an image, then click Polaroid-o-nize. Need an image to try it on? No problem. Have fun Polaroid-o-nizing!

That’s some skilled image manipulation. I just wish there was some kind of (simple) macro for programs like Fireworks and Photoshop for mass image editing. I know there is one, but it’s just not like PHP or Javascript.

Haha that’s neat. I haven’t seen that site until just now.
    Nice favelet.

This is a favelet with some more options. It also replaces %20 with underscores (%20 sometimes doesn’t seem to work right when posting your image in forums or weblog comments).

I choose for a fast and light favelet consciously, because I think that’s what favelets should be — tools that do stuff with just a couple of clicks. When I want the extra options, I’ll go and edit the IRI in the address bar. Oh well, I guess it’s just a personal preference. Aside from my opinion on favelets and all, yours is quite nice, though it contained some syntax errors… Don’t worry, I fixed them. :) As for the %20 thing, it’s funny, Firefox seems to do that for me! What browser are you on? Anyhow, if this is a browser thang, this is probably something to add to the favelet. Thanks for your suggestions!

This is really cool although it’s not working for me on Mac OS 10.4.1 with Safari, but with Firefox working great.

Hey Marcus, thanks for the info! I’d love to make this thing cross-browser compatible, so could you provide some more details? What parts of the favelet do work in Safari?

Oliver, you can automate this using Photoshop’s batch process, all you have to do is to record your steps in creating a polariodonized PSD file. After creating your custom action, you can batch process it and set all the folder options to the source and output folders and just let it do all the hard work for you.

That’s some wicked fun! I love it! How I wish there was a nifty little program that would do this offline for me…

    Hi!

I wrote a small Polaroid-o-nizer Plugin for WordPress. It is about to be released. I still have to write the English documentation and pack all the stuff together. With this plugin you will have your own Polaroid-o-nizer page and a new filter to implement polaroids into your posts.

You may have a look already.

    Best regards,
    Markus

How about I wrap this trick into an Automator script for those of you with Photoshop and OS Tiger? ;)

This is one cool tool. On a remotely related note, I just discovered Google’s Picasa. I’m really a Photoshop guy when it comes to photo editing, but I just needed something I could use at the office. I was pleasantly surprised how fun Picasa can be, makes you focus more on taking great photos instead. ;)

Polaroid-o-nizer can be one great iPAP toy? Nah. ;)

Hi! I just found your favelet and would really like to use it. I know the topic is kind of old and not sure if I will actually get a response but… When I try to use the favelet it says that it can’t get to kr0ket.info…a page your favelet needs to use to function? I don’t know I just want to use the favelet because it sounds really neat.

    Thanks.

As you can see the “official” site is down at the moment, probably due to the copyright-case. Luckily I downloaded the script in time and made a backup for all of you interested: http://members.lycos.co.uk/polaroidonizer/polaroidonizer_v0.5.7.zip
