Math Jazz v3
I’ve been working on a completely new design for this site lately. v2—which you’re still looking at right now—looks nice in my opinion, but I got bored of it. Who needs a three column layout anyway?
That’s right — I removed the left navbar in the new version. The categories and archives lists will from now on go in one archive page. The meta and powered by “section” and of course the disclaimer were moved to the bottom of the page.
By the way, there will also be an about section on this site—soon.
Curious? Wait no longer! Here’s the sneaky preview…
What do you guys and gals think of the new beta design?
P.S.: Did I mention I *hate* Internet Explorer’s CSS2 support?

However, please note that I’m also a blues-lover! I see this new design as a major clean-up of v2. I’ll probably create other style sheets — including a Very Blue One — that work with the same XHTML in the near future (and install a style switcher) ;)

How’s the search for a new way to show your pictures in a brand new gallery? Will you integrate it into the new design as well?
The live preview thingy is smart, where’d you get that? Oh, so many questions.

The live preview thingy originally comes from Movable Type powered blogs… But I stole it :)
However, a couple of months after I implemented it on my WP-powered blog, Chris J. Davis posted the code right here. Ooh yeah.
It’s nice… Live preview… But will it really go with my blog? Does it fit the style… Hmmm… Meaning sometimes I think of mine as hacked together! :)
But guess what! I just allowed the image tag in comments! I’m not sure if that’s a good thing but hey you can use your own smilies now…
I’d like this version the most! Butt the new one is’t sow bad ;)

Well, basically he’s claiming the newest design is a rip. He already “saw it somewhere on the web”, but he “cannot find the link anymore”. Right.
What he probably thinks you got it from is http://squidfingers.com/patterns/ (the pattern for the background obviously)… Then again, that’s what those patterns are for!
Oh well… You can proably ban his IP somewhere in the WordPress admin area.
As for the live preview: it’s nice, and I’ve been mucking around with it too.
aka-scripts.js— I’ve hacked together lots of variations of the live preview script, it’s now way more modular. Also, the linebreaks are better (thanks to Andy Budd).See it in action here: http://lounge.gameover.com/akaxaka/contact.php.
I got the background pattern from squidfingers indeed. But then again, I never said I didn’t—I even link to squid because of that! (The pattern is edited by moi by the way.)
Somehow I’m convinced of the fact that Mr. Bert never even visited squidfingers before, and was just claiming I ripped a design “for fun”… Veeeeeery funny.
