Bend It like Beckham

I watched Bend it like Beckham at school this morning. The story goes as follows: Jess, an 18-year-old girl, doesn’t want to end up as a boring solicitor. She wants to play football like her hero, David Beckham. But being a girl, her chances are limited to having a kick about in the local park and, being an Asian girl, her family don’t even agree with her doing that. As her mum says: Who’d want a girl who plays football all day, but can’t make chapattis? Here’s a four word film review of this movie.

In my opinion, Bend It is a much better film than Billy Elliot, which kind of handles the same subject (girl/boy wants to become a footballer/ballet dancer).

Apart from Victoria Beckham’s contributions, the music is quite good. In a certain scene (parked car near airport, Pinky & boyfriend in it), you even get to hear a Wordy Rappinghood ringtone!

Bend it like Beckham *rocks*! It’s so funny I almost laughed my arse off. I would certainly watch it again.

kheb de film int eerste middelbaar met school gaan zien. Vond de acteurs goe, de diepzinnige humor ook ;) Maar de titel heeft er eigenlijk niets mee te maken vind ik! Het verhaaal is ook wel top

The title has got something to do with it, seeing as at the very end she bends the ball “like Beckham”. David ain’t such an amazing footballer imo though…

I loved that movie. Someone commented that that the title has nothing to do with it, but it does. The girl Jess can bend her balls like Beckham. She has the gift. I really love this blog. I definitely be back!

    Hello,

    DavidBeckhamSucks.com

Well, the name says it all doesn’t it. If you are gay or looking for some Photoshop images, or looking for some juicy gossip, you going to the right place. If you are straight and looking for love, you might be in the wrong place. David Beckham isn’t going to be able to help you, he is far too busy with Posh and his mistress.

So pop by and see what we have to offer.

    Regards,
    Webmaster of DavidBeckhamSucks.com
